Apps do not start on my device

Problem

Apps do only start if Everywhere Launcher is in the foreground

Explanation

This can happen on some devices like e.g. a Xiaomi which uses non standard manufacture specific internal settings. Those settings prevent apps from starting other apps if those apps run in the background.

Solution

• in your android device settings find the section called “apps”
• look for everywhere launcher and click it
• on a Xiaomi you will find an entry like “other permissions” in this view, click it
• Enable the “Display pop-up windows while running in the background” setting

This should solve the issue.
